Clive Frostick, from Farnham Chess Club, will talk us through some of his games from our recent 2020 Keith Richardson Memorial Tournament. This also doubled as the Camberley Chess Club’s annual championship, which was won by Julien Shepley. It was played on-line for the first time, on the Lichess platform. Everyone is welcome, especially those that participated in the event!
The Fourth Keith Richardson Memorial Tournament was the first one to played entirely online using the Lichess platform on Sunday, November 1st.
After a tense struggle over six rounds of R20 + 10 rapidplay two players emerged on 5/6. 2019 winner Clive Frostick and WIM Natasha Regan.
The tie was resolved by Lichess and Clive emerged as winner by the narrowest of margins
In third place place was Camberley Club member Julien Shepley playing under the nom de plume of MurrayGeenWood. As the highest place Camberley member Julien has become Club Champion for 2020.
A total of 20 players from across the country took part.
This chess tournament will be the fourth annual event to mark the passing of Keith Richardson, correspondence Grand Master.

2018 Keith Richardson Memorial Tournament
The Second Annual (2018) Keith Richardson Memorial Chess Tournament was held on Saturday 7th July at Camberley Chess Club.
Despite other national sporting activity that day, attendance was well into double figures and many thrilling chess games ensued.

A total of £100 was collected from the sale of Keith’s chess books and donations. This will be forwarded to his favourite charity.
