Shreyas Royal at Camberley Chess Club

Shreyas Royal, the UK’s newest and youngest chess Grandmaster, came to Camberley Chess Club and shared his experience and advice with a group of aspiring juniors, parents and local chess players. He went through many of his games showing how he progressed from an 8 year old new to chess to achieving his Grandmaster norm recently. The games illustrated how his chess style changed over the years. We concluded with a Q&A session which was very interesting for all. It was great to celebrate his Grandmaster achievement in this way.

On Twitter/X Shreyas posted “It was wonderful to conduct a seminar at Camberley Chess Club today. I was delighted to see a lot of aspiring juniors show up. I was thrilled to see their passion for the game and the session. I hope I did my part of inspiring and making it enjoyable for everyone in the room!”

A huge thank you to Shreyas and his Dad Jit for kindly coming to Camberley Chess Club and many congratulations on achieving his Grandmaster title.
